Group insurance built around your team.

As employers, we want to do everything we can to help, and group risk insurance can provide meaningful support during difficult times.

Offering employer-sponsored group income protection, group critical illness cover and group life assurance allows you to support your staff during difficult times and protect your company from risk at a relatively low cost.

Group risk that goes beyond financial security.

The financial protection afforded by group risk policies provides peace of mind to employees and those closest to them at an emotionally fraught time. However, group insurance often takes this one step further, offering team members other means of meaningful wellbeing support, including access to:

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs)

Confidential emotional support, practical guidance and professional advice to help employees navigate personal or work-related challenges and manage issues that may otherwise affect their health, wellbeing or performance.

GP24/7 Medical and 2nd Opinion

On-demand private medical advice for employees and their dependents, alongside the reassurance of a second opinion when an employee wants to review an existing diagnosis, treatment plan or recommended care strategy.

Specialist Services

Targeted support such as physiotherapy, rehabilitation and cancer services, helping employees manage specific health concerns, identify treatment and recovery options, and receive appropriate advice during difficult or uncertain times.

Protect your people when it matters most.

Give your employees and their families greater peace of mind with financial protection that supports them through life's unexpected challenges. Whether you're reviewing existing cover or introducing group risk benefits, our team can help you find the right approach for your people and your business.

What are the main benefits of group risk policies?

Group risk policies provide employers with a cost-efficient way to provide physical, mental and financial wellbeing support to employees and their loved ones. The benefit to staff is providing meaningful support and peace of mind. However, employers can also benefit from improved recruitment and retention and a more resilient workforce as a result.

How does group risk compare with individual policies?

Individual insurance policies can provide highly specific cover, but they are typically more expensive as the cost is based on the individual. Group risk policies are often more cost-effective because the risk is spread across a wider group. In many cases, employees can also be included for the full level of benefit available under the scheme without needing to provide individual medical evidence.

Is medical underwriting required for all employees covered by a group risk policy?

Medical underwriting and health checks are not normally required for an employee to be covered by a group risk policy.

Do all employees need to be included in a group risk policy?

More often than not, most or all employees will be included within a group risk policy. However, employers can structure benefits differently for distinct categories of employees, for example based on seniority, role or other clearly defined eligibility criteria.

Governance and compliance.

When it comes to group risk, you need to know that your policies are up to date, provide appropriate cover for the needs of your employees, and remain compliant with insurer requirements, relevant legislation and your contractual obligations.

With extensive experience managing group life assurance, group income protection and group critical illness insurance policies, our team of employee benefits consultants will help you manage your eligibility criteria, employee data, renewals and provider requirements, ensuring your arrangements continue to operate in line with insurer terms, relevant legislation and your contractual commitments to your staff members.
