Following a successful six-month student placement with us while in her third year at university, Wendy joined our Westhill office in August 2019.

Following her placement, Wendy returned to university for her fourth and final year. Graduating with a BA in Business Management from Edinburgh Napier, she came back to Acumen Financial Planning as a paraplanner on a full-time basis.

On top of her degree, Wendy holds a Certificate in Financial Services and is continues working toward her full Diploma.

Like many, Wendy took up cooking and baking during lockdown, which she still enjoys, even if she claims it’s a work in progress.

Wendy provides support to Philip Gauld and Steven Milne.

What attracted you to Acumen Financial Planning?

“Having joined on a temporary basis on a student placement, the support offered by everyone in the firm at such an early stage in my career played a large part in my decision to return permanently.”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Obtaining my Certificate in Financial Services.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!”
