Philip Gauld joined Acumen Financial Planning in March 2014 after 15 years of experience in a similar role to manage the Team in our Elgin office.

Starting his career as a Chartered accountant, Philip changed course to pursue financial planning in 1999 and hasn’t looked back since. Philip looks after high net-worth clients from all backgrounds, with a particular interest in retirement and inheritance tax planning.

Outside of work, Philip enjoys playing golf and coaching football.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“I enjoy helping people achieve financial ‘peace of mind’. It’s a phrase often used by clients who have benefited from the planning process that we work through together. It enables clients to relax and enjoy their chosen lifestyle, with the knowledge that they have professional support working with them along the road of our life’s journeys.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“I coach football, a role I took up to support my son when he started playing football. I enjoy the coaching – it’s taught me a lot about people, both young and old, and the challenges of building good teams.”
