When did you join Acumen Financial Planning?
I joined Acumen Financial Planning in September 2021.
Please provide a brief overview of your career history.
After leaving school, I began my career as a cashier with the Bank of Scotland. Over the course of 13 years, I took on various roles, including Cashier Supervisor, Banking Advisor, Mortgage Reviewer, and ultimately Mortgage Advisor. In 2016, I went on maternity leave and decided a year later to focus on raising my son and furthering my education. After completing my studies, I applied for the role of Compliance Monitoring Assistant at Acumen in 2021. In 2023, I transitioned to the position of Training & Competence Supervisor, and I am now excited to have recently joined the planning team in our Elgin office.
What are your key responsibilities within your role at Acumen Financial Planning?
Having just joined the planning team in Elgin, I am still discovering my key responsibilities, but I am enthusiastic about embracing this new challenge and contributing to the team!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my son, hiking hills with my Border Terrier, experiencing live music, and traveling to explore new places and cultures.
What is your favourite thing about working at Acumen Financial Planning?
I love everything about working at Acumen Financial Planning, but my favourite aspect is my amazing colleagues and the shared dedication we all have to our clients.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given (personally or professionally)?
“If you don’t know something, ask. And if someone asks you for help, always take the time to give it.”
Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.
I ran the Inverness Marathon in 2024, raising over £1,000 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
