Jenny Madhoo

Chartered Financial Planner

Aberdeen

Graduating from university in 2010, Jenny worked in Financial Services in central London for several years before relocating to Aberdeen in 2017, initially working as a Paraplanner and now as a Financial Planner.

Jenny joined the team at Acumen in 2018 and enjoys meeting clients and providing them comfort and confidence in a field where they may feel out of their depth.

Jenny won the acclaimed CISI Paraplanner of the Year in 2016 and holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS) from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys baking, hanging out with her rescue dog in the countryside, painting and reading (mainly financial planning textbooks!).

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“Meeting people and hearing all about their lives. Helping to give them comfort and confidence in a field where they feel out of their depth.”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Winning CISI Paraplanner of the Year in 2016, and becoming a Financial Planner.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“My husband is from the Caribbean, so we like to listen to a lot of Caribbean music, and every year we get dressed up to perform in Notting Hill Carnival in London!”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“I’m not sure that one single piece of advice comes to mind, but across my career so far, I’ve been fortunate to work with many different people, all of whom have taught me something about what I either want – or don’t want – to be! I’ve used these experiences, along with my own personal style, to become the Financial Planner and colleague that I am today. I love to listen to other people; life is a constant work in progress.”
