Ellie joined the Acumen Financial Planning team in January 2021 as a Trainee Paraplanner and is based in our Aberdeen office.

Working in the financial sector since 2014, Ellie worked in a few firms undertaking general administration before moving specifically into financial planning. With her interest in Personal Finance, the move to financial planning was inevitable.

Outside of work, Ellie runs a small floristry business, primarily focusing on wreaths. However, she is looking to branch out to flower arrangements in time.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“There is so truly no cap on what you can learn. The financial sector is forever changing and, with that, new regulations, new products – it never gets boring.“

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Passing my exams. I have had my hang-ups about my capabilities, so to pass these all first time (let’s not jinx anything!) has been a proud career moment.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“I contradict every stereotype of a 25-year-old. I love gardening, hiking, embroidery, baking and staying in on Friday nights to watch films with my partner.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Nothing changes without change”.
