Daniela joined our Aberdeen office in January 2021 on a part-time basis while still a student at university. After graduating, she began working full time with us in June 2021.

As a student, Daniela worked as a restaurant supervisor at a café/bistro. She knew she wanted to be in a career that involved working with people from working in that role. During the summer of her second year at university, she completed an internship at a small financial planning firm. This cemented her decision to work in financial services after university, allowing her to use her degree while working with others.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“Definitely the people! Starting a new job during lockdown was quite daunting, but everyone was super welcoming and friendly. I really like how chatty everyone is, because I’m super chatty too!”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Probably achieving my first-class degree in Economics from Aberdeen University. The hard work was well worth it and has shown me that hard work does pay off, which I’ll take with me throughout my career. “

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“You can’t live a positive life with a negative mindset.”
