Crystal rejoined our Aberdeen office in 2019.

Working for Acumen Financial Planning from 2010-2012, Crystal moved to Australia in 2012, where she opened, owned and managed her own coffee shop.

Learning a lot from her travels and experiences down under, we were delighted to welcome Crystal back to the team when she moved back to Scotland in 2019.

As a business support administrator, Crystal supports the team by monitoring and improving internal processes. She ensures that the database is kept up to date, checks that the information regarding clients’ annual reviews is correct, and assists the team with any client portal issues.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“The variety. Not one day is the same as the next. I can work on numerous projects at once and like being able to help people complete tasks and make their job easier.”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Opening my coffee shop in Australia. By far, it’s the most difficult task I’ve ever been challenged with to date. However, I learned a phenomenal amount, not only about myself but also about people in general.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“I love watching period dramas on TV. I am a bit of a geek, as in I love lists and numbers. I’m prone to a bit of sudoku and will happily spend the evening doing a jigsaw puzzle!”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“If you have people working for you, you want to have people that are better than you.”
