Claire rejoined Acumen Financial Planning in September 2025, returning to Aberdeen after several years in Bristol. An Economics graduate, she began her career in Edinburgh as a Trainee Investment Specialist before moving into Paraplanning in Aberdeen. Her career progressed in Bristol, where she became a Chartered Financial Planner.

At Acumen, Claire helps clients achieve their goals through holistic planning and cash flow forecasting, with a particular interest in estate planning and supporting clients through sensitive life events. Outside work, she enjoys hiking in the Cairngorms and travelling to connect with different cultures.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Becoming a Chartered Financial Planner is a proud milestone. It reflects years of hard work and dedication. But I’m also proud of the relationships I’ve built with clients along the way and the trust that has been placed in me to guide them through life’s financial decisions.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Don’t just plan for the future – make sure you enjoy the present.” It’s a great reminder both in life and in financial planning. While it’s important to prepare for what’s ahead, it’s equally important to enjoy the present and live well today.”
