Caroline began providing temporary cover at our Aberdeen office in August 2022. However, once we saw the value she was bringing to Acumen Financial Planning, we offered her a permanent position the very next month!

After 40+ years, she officially retired from working in the Public Sector in July 2021 and was ready to start a new chapter. Here, Caroline continues to use her experience of working with people that she acquired over her career while also continually learning new skills.

In her spare time, she enjoys drawing. She has had the opportunity to undertake a course in life drawing classes, an experience that, from an artist’s perspective, she found to be remarkably interesting and liberating.

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Achieving an Honours degree as a mature student while working full-time and supporting my two children through their secondary education exams. I am an advocate of lifelong learning and always encourage people to fulfil their potential.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Invest in education because once you have acquired it, no one can take it away from you.”
